Safari Time & Happy New Year!

Haven't written for a few days as there was no computer access. We spent the last couple of days at the Protea Hotel Hluhluwe & Safari where we also celebrated New Year's Eve. Partying and dancing with old friends and newly acquired friends. Watch for the pictures to show the evidence later.
With an early wake up we head out to Durban, took a tour of the area which has a population of about 3.2 million people, just like San Diego.
Shopped at a road side market to buy a few dust collectors & some handmade jewelry. Arriving late in the evening to our hotel we ate dinner at Wimpy's, their local hamburger joint. Next morning we left early for our first Safari adventure to Hluhluwe Game Park. We were able to observe buffalo, rhino, elephants who are very destructive, antelope type animals, ugly warthogs, and the 6th of the big 6, the ever elusive DUNG bettle. The video will show you some National Geographic Moments, hold your breath.
The afternoon we experienced the living and working of a Zulu Village where we sampled the local Beer, yes it was a bitter drink and we only took a sip, except for Vennessa she opted out. The show ended with a vigorous Zulu Dance, looked like wanna be Chip N Dale dancers.
January 1, 2009 took us across the border into Swaziland a small Kingdom in the heart of South Africa. This little kingdom is a country onto itself. Spent the night at the Orion Piggs Peak Hotel & Casino which is located on the northern border of Swaziland.
Now on to our next Safari where we hope to find more of the Big 5. Pictures to come later as this computer is slow.
Until next time.
